Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Top 10 Best Main Characters In The Assassin’s Creed Games

Introduction:

The Assassin’s Creed series has introduced a lot of different characters throughout all the entries, however, even though all of them are memorable in their own way, others just had a way to create moments that have stayed with us to this day. Whether it is by their personality, actions or circumstances they found themselves in, here is our list of top 10 best main characters in the Assassin’s Creed Games!

Haytham Kenway in Assassin’s Creed III

Starting off at number 10 is Haytham Kenway!

Sure, he may be part of the bad guys’ team but, even though he may be working for them, we can tell that he has some good in him! He’s very charming, always very proper without losing temper but, you can also tell that he has a lot of internal conflicts that clash with the work he does, which makes him a very nice to play and complex character!

Aveline de Grandpre

At number 9 is Aveline de Grandpre!

This assassin is actually quite interesting for the fact that she (unlike many of the characters on this list) grew up in riches! Growing up in a very wealthy family and, seeing all the consequences for the working class slaving away for her fortune really made her put things into perspective and, eventually, join the assassin’s brotherhood. She’s a character with a lot of depth that definitely doesn’t get enough recognition!

Shay Cormac

At number 8 is Shay Cormac!

Cormac was a member of the templars, however, before that, he was also a member of the assassin’s which, straight away, is a character that kind of contradicts himself but in a good way! Even though he is working with the templars, he refuses to be as evil as them and even shows mercy on a number of occasions.

Aya in Assassin’s Creed Origins

At number 7 is Aya in Assassin’s Creed Origins!

Even though the main protagonist of this entry in the series is Bayak, we now know that this wasn’t always the case! Aya was actually the one that was meant to be the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Origins and it definitely shows in the depth and personality that she displays. She is a very strong woman, determined to achieve her goals and objectives while always remaining true to herself, which is very admirable.

Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

At number 6 is Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag!

Edward is a very fascinating character, not only for his actions but for the progression and growth that he displays throughout the course of the game! We can really see him changing before our very own eyes, going from irresponsible to a full-grown assassin. He really shows that, if we meet the right people, our perspectives can change in a heartbeat.

Evie and Jacob Frye in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

At number 5 is Evie and Jacob Frye in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate!

Evie and Jacob Frye are siblings and, thankfully, Ubisoft let us play as both, alternating from character to character while seeing their perspective and understanding their views on character-specific missions along the way! They are humorous and sassy as good British folk are and they are very strong-willed, often clashing against each other with Jacob wanting a more hands-on approach, while Eve prefers to analyze before engaging! They are a great break from the mould and one that is very appreciated.

Arno Dorian in Assassin’s Creed Unity

At number 4 is Arno Dorian in Assassin’s Creed Unity!

Speaking of breaking from the mould, this character is the perfect example of that! Arno Dorian might just be the funniest and most charismatic assassin in the entire series! He doesn’t take himself seriously at all but, still gets stuff done and, that is something that we really love about him and hope to see more of in the upcoming games! He is the kind of character that lives life dangerously and absolutely loves it but, when things get serious, he also gets the job done!

Kassandra/Alexios in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

At number 3 is Kassandra/Alexios in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey!

These Malakas are the product of one of the most critically acclaimed (and discussed) Assassin’s Creed entry! Many say that they aren’t even assassins and, technically, they are right! They are indeed mercenaries but it is their personalities, expressions and emotions that really make them some of the most loved characters in the franchise!

Bayek Of Siwa

At number 2 is Bayek Of Siwa in Assassin’s Creed Origins!

Not going to lie, Bayek did not get an easy life at all and, even though that is a true statement for most of the characters on this list, this one might be a bit more intense, simply because the whole motive for his adventure is to find the man that killed his son and, of course, solve mysteries along the way! He is a character that is full of rage and hunger for revenge but also, one that is always willing to help and for that, he deserves all the praise he gets.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Finally, at number 1 is Ezio Auditore in Assassin’s Creed!

How could we not put the legendary Ezio Auditore in the number one spot? He was, not only, the character that introduced the gaming community to the amazing franchise that is Assassin’s Creed but, he also has an engaging personality and convoluted storyline that makes the early games some of (if not the) best games in the entire series, still relevant today! Between discovering the origins of the apple of Eden, to fighting Abstergo, Ezio Auditore did it all first and he did it absolutely flawlessly, which makes him the most unforgettable character of the series!
